The story of Cody & Steve is certainly one worth sharing.
Steve Low and his wife, Sally purchased Cody strictly for a companion. When they retired, sold their house and became motor-home gypsies, Cody was a permanent fixture on the couch.
In July of 2001 Steve and Cody joined in one of our field training sessions at Echoewood and they were both instantly hooked. Steve had the time, where-with-all AND determination to train Cody to be the best. Steve survived all the handler butterflies as they progressed through Junior Hunter. The team spent last winter bumming around the country, dog training with an assortment of dog people. They positively breezed through Senior Hunter and went straight into Master, completing the Master title in the spring of 2003. Cody at three years old has passed his hip, elbow, heart and eye clearances and has the world by the tail. In May of 2004 Cody became qualified to run in the 2004 Master National Competition. He beat himself by a month this year, qualifying for the 2005 MN in April.
Adirondac Code Red, MH***, WCX became ALL AGE QUALIFIED by earning a Jam in the Amateur stake at the Rose Country Retriever Club Field Trial at Palestine, TX on April 2, 2006.
There are two ways to earn the QAA or 3 star designation; either by winning a first or second place in a Qualifying Stake, or the hard way, by running in an All Age stake and receiving a placement or Jam.
Steve and Sally are loving their retirement as they still have goals and triumphs. Because of Cody a whole new world has opened up to them.
Steve has agreed to be one of my cheerleaders and if you have questions for him, or just want to hear some Cody stories, contact him at; stevelow@earthlink.net - - or just follow the motor home with all the orange ribbons in the windows!
