On May 10, 2002, the extended family of Adirondac Golden Retrievers suffered a tragic loss.  Lindsey Schwab, along with other ROTC cadets, had been performing community service by picking up trash along State Rt. 104, just outside the Village of Mexico, NY when an SUV swerved onto the shoulder of the road and struck Lindsey, killing her.

Lindsey was 12 days away from her 18th birthday and had been accepted at SUNY Oswego to begin studying journalism this fall.  Lindsey was our idea of the all American kid.

In her memory, The Lindsey A. Schwab Scholarship fund has been established in honor of Lindsey's belief in helping those in need. This perpetual scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Mexico Central School boy and girl each year to help them with their college expenses.
