"Penny"
Adirondac Patent Pending     CD   MH   OD  WCX

They said it couldn't be done. Not with THIS dog. Penny had enjoyed too many years of pheasant hunting on Echoewood, our dog training area. Her marking skills come close to psychic. Her incredible nose can hone in on a wily pheasant, but also told her, "I smell a bird over there...not where Carol is trying to tell me to go..." Add to the problem her hit and miss foundation work and you're looking at a lot of entries that didn't produce. My friend, Bob Reckart agreed to do me a HUGE favor and took her on for about 3 weeks prior to the 2003 Golden National Specialty. He knew she was the ultimate challenge and time was short, but he convinced her to turn the corner and become a team player. She went 5 for 7 since then. She had her last litter in May and was spayed in August, so will live out her days doing what she loves most - hunting.
