About all I knew was that I wanted an intelligent dog like our older dog Heidi, who was field bred but never trained. The Internet provided the answer with Carol's beautiful web site. It was an exciting time to drive up to New York from South Carolina to pick out a puppy from the Polly/Highland Hoya mating. I got way more than I bargained for! Adirondac Belle Tess has been a wonderful companion to Heidi and me. We had the opportunity to learn all about field training and hunt tests as she matured. At four months old we went to her first group training session and it was immediately apparent that she was the class of the field. Bold and fearless she seems willing to tackle anything. Athletic and tireless, she goes like a streak. Bright and willing, she tries hard to get things right. At two and a half years old she had her WCX, JH, HR(UKC). She quite easily earned her Senior Hunter over the winter and has already (May '05) racked up her first Master leg. During the last year we have had the good fortune to train with Connie Cleveland who predicts a Master Hunter title in 2005. After that, field trials may be an option. |
